I have a coworker who will turn 60 at the end of Oct. He LOVES his beer and I really want to make the beer bottles and bucket cake. I purchased liquid latex at Michaels and I thought it was the one discussed in the forum on the beer bottles.

My concern and question is this stuff has ammonia in it. Is the really the one that is used? Doesn't the ammonia penetrate the sugar? Or did I purchase the wrong stuff?

I'd be leery of liquid latex. Most food safe molds are made from silicone. Latex allergies have become fairly common and the bottles would have direct contact with it.

You can buy silicone molding product at Michaels, but honestly, to make a full sized bottle, you'd need a fair amount.

I'd suggest buying a pre-made mold. They're on sale until 11:59 pm tonight.
