Hi everybody,
I am still here trying to incorporate angel wings and bubbles in a design for a 14 years old birthday girl...
She does not want any angel, fairy, etc ( in other words, no characters or figurines), just the wings!
I tried the forum before, but I still do not know what to do and the cake is October 3rd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please, help!
. . . you might consider gelatin . . . here are a couple of applications using gelatin . . . http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=353193 (if you like this style - here are detailed instructions from torki on how to do them http://forum.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=download&id=20111) . . . http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1265096 . . . as for bubbles . . . have you considered blown sugar . . . http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopic-41980-0.html
I can envision a really cute woodlands scene where a fairy sitting on a toadstool is blowing bubbles . . . BUT that may be soooo far off the mark that it would be a disaster . . . ![]()
. . . .
HOWEVER . . . it sounds like your birthday girl knows what she wants . . . why don't you ask her to sketch what she is expecting . . . and design your cake based on that . . . for all I know it could be a "tattoo" type image she has in her mind . . . and we are waaayyyy off base with our angle/fairy images . . . there are also lots of ideas here (but you would still need to know what your Bday girl is after) . . . http://images.google.ca/images?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US

Thank you so much for all your ideas!!!!!!!
I asked , but she did not emailed me back.....Her mom told me she like fairies, but the girl thinks she is too old for it, so she just wants wings!
I have never done blown sugar......
. . . good luck with what ever you come up with . . . please be sure to post pictures here when you're done . . . (have you tried to call the girl - maybe she didn't get your email
) . . .
OMG...I'm so glad you posted that link to the cold porcelain site! Fairy wing cutters!!!! Woohoo!! See this is why I love the CC!!!!

this is a cute bubbles idea and then maybe pipe wings above the happy birthday?

or
i think these types of dots look bubbly and you can make a pair of wings from fondant/gumpaste for a topper maybe:

you can make wings like this a bit bigger from RI for a topper:

Good luck!
I found this link too for buying bulk Isomalt...might be a good one!!
http://www.globalsweet.com/p/BLK-GRI55.html
Edit:
Ok, I just called the company and not only where they very nice but they were very helpful as well!!
They sell 55 pound bags of Isomalt and the delivered price is $233.75(that's about $5.00 a pound). To anywhere in the USA. They also sell over seas and to Canada. You have to call for pricing, but I think if you are doing alot of sugar art, it is going to be well worth the price!! Here's their number if you want to call: 1-800-601-0688
Just a side note for fun:
The lady there just told me that they have just been commissioned to deliever a Truck load of Isomalt to one of the US army bases for a contest. Get this: They are having a bake-off!! Apparently they are competing each other to make a football sized cake. The Isomalt is for the icing, because of it's slow-to-melt qualities in heat.
OMG...I think that's hillarious!! Just thought I'd share that!! I hope they post pictures somewhere when they do it too!!!
