I just got the alphabet cutters for fondant and I am having so much trouble with them. I am using MMF and they keep sticking. I have dusted them and the ones that don't stick...I have to carefully cut the excess off which seems to take forever. Does anyone have any tips on using these? Also how long do I need to let them dry before handling them, painting, etc? I really love the fondant lettering. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jen
I find wiggling them helped.. but sometimes, even w/cornstarch, confectioner's sugar and crisco, they just stick sometimes .. I'm not sure if it's the MMF that just a bit sticky or what really... but I've had them do that to me too .. I know how frustrating it can be ... other times I've done them and had no probs at all ..
How about spraying the cutters with non-stick spray, not sure but that's what I do![]()
I just made some things with cutters and mmf. I found that if I added a little more powdered sugar to the mmf it helped make it not quite so sticky. I also put the cutters in powerded sugar. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
