Here I am everyone!
Sorry about the confusion, didn't mean for anyone to worry! With the time difference in Germany and then I had to work today, I didn't find out about this until a few hours ago. Thank you Melvira for not bailing on me just yet!
Well I thought we should try chocolate for once (since I'm a major chocoholic). I found this recipe on the Food Network a while ago, but haven't tried them yet. They sound so yummy and rich! It didn't have a frosting recipe so I'm going to try chocolate ganache for them. Better grab a glass of milk for this one!
Peanut Butter Brownie Cupcakes Recipe
courtesy Paula Deen
Yields 2 dozen
1 (18 1/2-ounce) package chewy fudge brownie mix (recommended: Duncan Hines)
1 (12-ounce) package peanut butter chips or 24 miniature peanut butter cups
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line 24 regular muffin cups with paper cupcake liners.
Prepare the brownie mix according to package directions for cake-like brownies. Fill the cups half full with brownie batter. Place about 1 tablespoon peanut butter chips in the center of the batter, or press 1 peanut butter cup into the batter in each muffin cup until the batter meets the top edge of the peanut butter cup.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until the cupcakes are set. When they can be handled safely, remove them from the muffin tins and let cool completely on wire racks. Store in an airtight container.
Chocolate Ganache 1
by cheftaz
8 oz (240ml) cream
1 tbls butter (optional but makes it stay really shiny even after refrigerating)
1 oz sugar
12 oz (340 g) chocolate
Break chocolate into 1/2 oz pieces and place in stainless steel bowl
Heat cream, butter and sugar to boiling. Pour over chocolate and let stand 5 minutes. Stir from center out until smooth. After refrigerating 1 hour then fill your piping bag
Or use to ice your cake by pouring or spreading (allow to cool to room temp first)
I'm also going to add crumbled peanut butter cups on top of the ganache for a little decoration!
Let's try 2 weeks again for this recipe. We will judge to see if people are itching to do another recipe before the deadline of Tuesday, Sept. 30th.
I am going to do the same thing for recipe contributor for the next challenge by having anyone PM me a number between 1 & 1,000 before midnight (let's say Eastern time-I'm 6 hours ahead of that) on Sunday, Sept. 21st. Iâve chosen a number (which I have shared with Melvira, just to keep things fair). The person closest to the number will be lucky #5!
Here is also the link to the last CCCC threads (I hope I'm doing this right!) If not someone will correct me!

I'm actually torn between a choco/peanut butter cake for my birthday and a chocolate cheesecake/brownie concoction. this might just be the first CCCC i will try!
oh btw, does it have to be a brownie mix? sorry if this has been asked. can we modify the recipe or not? Thanks!

***waving hands and jumping up and down****
I'm in!! I'm in!!! Do we have to do the ganache since that's what Jen posted with the recipe or can we do the cc with a different frosting and it still counts as "original"??

You guys are so funny ! Yes we have the whips out and you have to do it just like it reads !
Of course you can do whatever you want.
The idea was to do what everyone else was so we can all talk about what we like and dont like.
If you want to bake the cake/ brownie and try it and let us know what you like about it without the ganache, and then add your own topping ,why not?
Or you can just do your own thing, You dont have to add the results to this.
I dont think anyone is going to complain if you come up with some awesome combo to share either

I could just try it the way it is... I only did the ganache once and didn't really like it. I'll try it again though.
Maybe I'll prove me wrong!!! LOL!!!

Oh Chocolate my fav. I will definately try these but it won't be until Wed or Thursday of next week. I made the rainbow cuppies today using the WASC recipe and the almond extract in the buttercream icing also. They turned out beautiful and everyone loved them.

amia1024.. Welcome to our club ! Dont forget to post after you try them !

Did you get pics?? Are they in your photos? Duh! Guess I could've checked that out BEFORE I posted!!! LOL~~~ post some if they aren't there and ya got em!!

i went to the grocery store and found brownie mix! woohoo! so i guess I will be trying these out. i have a big cake event on monday though maybe i can sneak this in LOL

Michelle,
The rainbow cuppies aren't in my photos yet but I will post them as soon as I can. Thanks for asking about them.

~K Jen~ One more question! Will you pour on the ganache, use a spatula or whip it??
I'm a little of a ganache idiot!!!

I have to say that I already make this recipe.
But I will make them again because I have never made them with the ganache, and that sounds very good added to them ,but rich Im sure !

I made these today with peanut butter cups. I made mini ones b/c my friend is borrowing my regular size pans.
I made the brownies and then pushed the cup into them right out of the oven. I am not sure if I am going to add anything on top, they are rich enough as is.
I do have one problem, should I have sprayed the liners before I put the batter in? The brownies stuck horribly to the liners.

I guess I'm lazy. When I have to put ganache on cupcakes that are not whipped ganache I don't pour it on. I take a bowl of ganache and just dip the tops of the cupcakes into it.

That's how I do my cuppies and it is ALWAYS a hit!!! Nothing lazy about good taste!

ahuvas... You are just supposed to make the recipe posted on the 1st page of this thread, then post and let us all know what you think about it or what changes you would make.
Has anyone else tried this besides msladybug???
