What is the best way to afix a letter or number made from gumpaste to the top of a fondant covered cake?
The best way for me is to put a half skewer or toothpick in the letter right when you make it, so that it dries in there and you can insert it into the top of the cake with a dot of royal icing.
I attach a skewer or toothpick to the back of the letter/number with a bit of melted chocolate. It works great..
Like kitagirl, at the time I make the number or letter I insert skewers or wires so it can go right into the cake.
Great - thanks !!!!!
I wait for mine to dry a little before I insert the wire. To me, it goes in easier and doesn't cause the letter to get out of shape.
