My DH made our daughters birthday cake. It was the 3rd time he's ever decorated. His fondant went on perfect! The whole cake was decorated in hardly any time.
It was funny watching him trying to place on the edible pearls around the sash on the waist. He has huge hands and wears a size 14 1/2 ring. He finally just asked if I had tweezers for this kind of thing. I couldn't help but smile watching these huge hands trying to place tiny pearls on a Barbie cake.
He was wondering what all of you talented CC people think of it. It's the pink Barbie cake in my photos.
ah what a wonderful hubby
mine will help me decorate cakes too sometimes. last year he helped make the woodstock for his own snoopy on the dog house (christmas theme) cake; and our oldest son helped me make Snoopy.. it felt so nice having almost the entire family working on the cake
Beautiful cake and he did a wonderful job that he should be very proud of. ![]()
i read somewhere on here that mike amazing cakes....has his video ready for sale...hubby might enjoy that for a birthday present.....man some people just do fondant well from the start....any tips?

wow. very impressive.
My DH helps me with writing and building the boxes, but no decorating!!
You are a lucky woman
He used Michelle Fosters fondant. We still have some left and he wants to practice with it soon. I bought him a small lined roller for fondant last week. I plan on buying Mike's Amazing cakes DVD for his Christmas stocking this year. Maybe if I get him addicted I will be able to buy more cake stuff without worry. ![]()
