I'm hoping to get some ideas on a recipe for filling cupcakes. I'm making a cupcake cake for next weekend and my aunt has suggested filling them with some sort of filling. I'm looking for a recipe that won't need to be refrigerated (nothing chocolate or fruity). Something more along the lines of vanilla.
I found a cupcake filling recipe on this site (made with evaporated milk, crisco, sugar, milk and vanilla) Anyone recommend this?

FYI, Bettercreme can also just be used, as is, and doesn't require refrigeration.
