Engagement Cake Challenge On Tv Today- How Did They Do That?

ANyone know how they stacked the cake that won tonights cake challenge on Foodnetwork? They started with a dowel that they slid the tiers onto. It was so cool!

I stack my cakes this way. I use masonite cake boards and they are all drilled with a hole in the center. I mount my center dowel to my baseboard, and then slide my tiers down over the top. This way you also never have to worry about having to have a topper on top or do patchwork to cover up a dowel hole, because there isn't one!
