Substitute For Almond Products In Marzipan

Am from the Caribbean (st. lucia to be exact) and its very difficult to come across Almond product (flour, meal) for marziapan. Is there any substitute that can to used intead.

I googled "substitution for almonds in marzipan" and got this page with a few recipes:

One of the recipes uses cream cheese and powdered sugar, and the other uses pistachios. They are worth a look imo icon_smile.gif

I also found this one, which has a recipe for marzipan with a recipe at the bottom to substitute pecans for the almonds, which looks good to me.

hi, Im in Venezuela, I buy peeled almonds and ground them my self in the cusinart, for a long time until they are very fine
