I have bought tons of cake books but, I cant find a yummy from scratch recipe. Choc. or white . It will also need to stand under fondant. please help

I love the chocolate cake recipe on the back of the Hershey's cocoa box. Unfortunately I don't know if it holds up under fondant. Perhaps someone else can help?
