Wanted to try Michelle Fosters fondant, but don't know where to buy food grade glycerin. Anyone know where to buy this?
I bought a big bottle of it at Sun Harvest...it was a 16oz bottle and I paid $8.
You can also get it wherever they carry Wilton products...that's a 2oz bottle for about $2.
i know you can get it at any specialty craft store micheals joann hobby lobby i think even walmart might have it
Hobby Lobby with the 40% coupon, specially when it's the unlimited quantity on Wilton stuff coupon
I didn't know that Wlamart carried it, must check it out for price.
I buy it at the local pharmacy, but they don't stock it 100% of the time. Sometimes they have it behind the counter. You can get it this way in larger quantities for less. I find those little jars of Wilton glycerin to be the most costly.

Glycerine in the pharmacy is not food grade
I buy mine in a health food store, its food grade and I get a large bottle for I think $10
I checked into the stuff at the pharmacy too, and it is not food grade. Infact, if you read the bottle, it says that it can work as a laxative! And I don't think that would be too good to give to your customers!
You can get the food grade stuff pretty much anywhere that sells Wilton stuff. The best place I have found to get it is online at www.countrykitchenusa.com because the Wilton bottles are very small and it takes a whole one to make a batch of MF's fondant. Good Luck!
Yes, I misspoke, I should have been more clear. What I buy at my pharmacy IS marked food grade. So just make sure of that... lol. Thanks for catching the error.
i'm in AUS so don't know if its different but i can by it in the health food isle near the vitamins at my supermarket?
I bought it at walmart with all the wilton cake supplies also i have gotten it at hobby lobby in the cake supply area.

How do you know it's marked food grade? What do I look for on the bottle? I remember reading somewhere here that if it says ISP on the bottle then it was food grade. Is that correct? When I bought mine I got it from Wal-Mart and so far no adverse reactions from my family.
Walmart sells it on the first aid aisle near the bandaids and calamine lotion. The bottle does not say food grade on it but if you go to the website listed on the bottle, it lists ingredient in foods as one of its' uses. So, would that essentially be the same as them stating that this product is food grade?
just on initial search ( I haven't finished looking), I found this
http://www.steviasmart.com/glfoga4obo.html
The bottle from the first aid aisle does include the USP thingy on it (it's not a symbol...just the letters, in all caps)
