Using Shorting With Fondant

I haven't used fondant much.... I recently was watching a show and she used alittle crisco in her fondant to make it shine.... Im about to make a gift box cake and I was thinking alittle crisco would make it shine but will it keep it from drying out? by that I when I let the bow part dry so it will hold it shap... Will this keep it from doing that? Also I planned on finishing it with some Luster Dust... Will using crisco effect the luster dust?

I am thankful for any helpful tips... thumbs_up.gif

Using crisco won't effect the drying process, it actually works great to keep it from sticking while using it. If you wait to use the Luster dust when it's dry it shouldn't have any effect on it. Hope this helps.

Thanks for responding... I think i will just try alittle crisco and hope they dry and keep there shape icon_biggrin.gif

the crisco will not prevent your bows from drying; wait till they are good and dry to luster them. be fine.
