Can someone tell me what either lacking or excessive in my chocolate cake recipe. It is a doctored recipe but it always comes out bubbly and pulls away from the pan. Chocolate cake is the only one that does this.
It has a wonderful taste and I don't want a new recipe. I would just like to fix this one.
Here's my recipe
1 1/2 cups coffee
4 eggs
1/2 c oil
1 tsp flavoring
1 pudding mix
1 cake mix
1 c Sour cream
2 T cocoa (it does this with or without this)
Just a thought, could it be the sour cream and pudding together
I use both in my white cake so I wouldn't think so unless its just different when mixed with the chocolate mix.

couple things of the top of my head, is the mix to runny? mixes bubble like that if they go in the oven quite runny. what temp are you baking at? it may be to high? just a thought. that is also quite a high ratio of coffee maybe play with altering that?
