I have to make a crocodile cake this week and I just wondered if anyone could help me out with getting the shape right. Would you do a couple of sheet cakes and carve away, or use a combination of tins? I found in another thread a tutorial using a christmas tree tin, which looked great, but I don't have one, so i was hoping for some other ideas. I really want to achieve a 3D look rather than a 'flat cake' shaped like a crocodile as the child's mum usually makes the kids cakes and I wanted to provide her with one that was out of the ordinary. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Gina.
PS I love freubelmuisje 's croc cake in the galleries!

I made an alligator cake years ago, by stacking two 9x13s for the body and using another for the head/tail. I used scraps for the legs.
