I make kitchen cakes like peacockplace does..torted and filled so there is four layers of cake with three layers of filling iced smooth with buttercream and if the main cake was covered with fondant then the kitchen cakes are too.

This is how I think of the difference b/w kitchen cakes and sheet cakes as well. IMO all of the guests should be served cake that looks the same. I would not do a kitchen cake in fondant though... the choice would be the brides.

And kitchen cakes can be any size! The cake I am baking right now has a 6" square kitchen cake. icon_lol.gif the cake is a gift for my cousin's wedding - 6,9,12 rounds but I want a few extra servings just in case, and i think my batches of batter will all add up.
