Could I Use Fondant???

I need to make a gumpaste shoe...can I do it out of fondant? I was going to use black Wilton fondant and add gumtex to it, does it work the same as gumpaste? Generally how long do these shoes need to dry?

Just thought I should add that I just found the answers in a forum search. It wouldn't work before for me. I can only give my shoe 3 days to dry so I hope that's enough!!!! I will still take any tips you guys might have. thanks

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Just add a good amount of gum-tex. I would add at least a half teaspoon to one of the colored packages of fodant to get it to dry soon enough for you.

Thanks TexasSugar, I have never used gumpaste and wasn't sure if it would work just the same. Once CC started working again, I was able to find that many people use fondant (or 1/2 gumpaste and 1/2 fondant). Hopefully it works for me too!!!
