I Left My Cakes Out - Are They Okay?

it just dawned on me that I forgot to put my cakes in the fridge today. They are all wrapped in saran wrap and sitting on the table. Will they be okay til morning or should I drive back up to my shop and put them away?
there is no icing. I just flipped the cakes out of their pans and wrapped them in saran wrap. just plain cake, these are the cakes that I baked for later in the week
it also depends on what kind of cake u baked.
my choc moist cakes, i've baked them countless times, & had left them UNWRAPPED on the counter, and when they've cooled, i left them in the cool oven, never wrapped them, and they never dried out & stayed moist.
so it really depends on the cake. if it's the dry type, then u will need to make the trip back home & store it in the fridge.
HTH.
i think they'll be ok....if you're concerned you could brush some simple syrup on them, before you decorate.
I am such a moron
.I was thinking one thing and writting another.I guess its kinda hard to wrap an iced cake in saran
Sorry,thay should have been fine.
They will be okay. I like the consistency of my cakes better when I don't refrigerate them.
They are fine! They are wrapped and won't get stale or dry. Don't worry!
Sorry to hijack but I have a question about simple syrup, littlecake. Can you use simple syrup on a cake that you are going to stack and/or carve? I have always wanted to try it but I thought it might make it too moist and it would fall apart? I usually use WASC for stacking and carving cakes, could I use a simple syrup on this kind of cake? TIA!
