Help! I got an orderfor a beehive cake and 2 dozen bee mini cupcakes and I am not sure how to make the beehive, especially with its rounds corners.
Any ideas or advice?
When I made my beehive cake (see my photo gallery) I just baked an 8" round and a 6" round, split each one in half and used a serrated knife to cut the layers so that they were gradually increasing in size (about 4-5", 6", 7", 8"). I carved the top piece so that the cake was slightly rounded, then I sandwiched them together with buttercream.
After this, I just laid yellow fondant over top, making sure to smooth it down from the top to the bottom, and making sure the fondant was allowed to form around all of the curves. I hope this helps!
Thanks that does help!
Silly question: I am new here, how do I view your photos?
I saw those cake pans, too, but I do not have time to order it now. Thanks though.
And duhhh...I just saw the "photos" button, thanks!
