Edible "moss".. How Do You Make It

I want to make edible Moss.. how is it done ?

You can make it from royal icing. Spread the icing where you want the moss, then blot it with a damp sponge.

I saw ace of cakes last week and they used an interesting technique to create realistic looking trees. They thinly spread out some kind of icing, stiff BC, royal maybe, let it dry then scraped it into a crumbly mound and coated the trees. It was pretty cool.
