That is my question.
I am making a 10" round birthday cake iced in buttercream for a friend's nephew's birthday tomorrow. His mom asked for vanilla buttercream filling. So obviously, I am going to put it between the top and bottom layer.
But should I also torte each layer so there will be 4 layers of buttercream in the cake?
This probably sounds dumb...but thanks for sharing your opinions!
I say yes. I think the torting makes a cake look more professional and taller. Less like a homemade cake.
This is actually the first cake that I am getting "paid" for (in that I am getting a little bit of money - but not even breaking even on ingredients, etc) so that idea about it looking professional is really great.
