So her fondant doesn't stick - has everyone heard of this?? I've heard of using crisco (wilton style I was taught) and also Cornstarch. I don't really have good results with either...maybe I just stink at fondant ![]()
This looks like it may work. Any thoughts??
personally for rolling fondant, i prefer the method of rolling it out on a lightly greased plastic or silicone mat, then you flip the fondant onto the cake and the moist side that is next to the mat becomes the top side helping to eliminate the elephant skin that often occurs if you don't work fast enough.
I never thought about rolling it out on a mat and then covering the cake, it's probably a lot easier to handle and move to the cake??
I see so many people use cornstarch, but I find if I don't use enough, the whole surface isn't covere, if I use too much the fondant gets hard.....
I don't like the wilton crisco method really - it gets so shiny.
