I'm trying my hand at stacking a wedding cake, but I have cake circles that are bigger than the cakes. How would you cut the cardboard to fit the cakes sizes? It will be 4 layers with dowels.
Take your cake pan, and use it to trace a circle on the circles, then cut them to size. I do this all the time and it works fine.
And a jigsaw makes it quick, smooth and easy!
