I have made swiss meringue buttercream for my first time and it is delicious icon_smile.gif Now I have one question: can I put some fondant cutouts on it, or it melts fondant?

(hope you understaind what I mean, my english is bad icon_cool.gif )

Thank you!

You can go ahead and put fondant accents on it - they will be fine. icon_smile.gif

Nope, it should be fine. I use SMBC all the time.

Yup it's all good, I use it all the time, I actually prefer it over traditional BC

Sounds Wonderful!!!

Hey, does anyone else notice when they add an emoticon to the end of a sentence or paragraph it occasionally deletes your entire comment? Frustrating.

I agree with all the others. SMBC is my first choice and it works very well with fondant cutouts.

Cake was in the fridge over night, fondant is still ok icon_wink.gificon_biggrin.gif Now I am making royal icing butterfly to finish it. I just regret not making more buttercream to cover the cake better... but for the first time, I think it is ok.

Oh, thanks! I have forgotten to mention this is chocolate sponge cake with strawberry yoghurt cream filling with bitter chocolate drops. So it is pink and brown inside and outside.
This is a surprise for my friends birthday...

I agree - gorgeous cake. I love the colors.

How did you get the nice tan and brown colors - mine always look to "orangey".

Lovely job.
