Hi ,
Does anyone hv an idea how this effect is done (refer attachment). There is no frosting here but am just curious!
Could it be placed on a square patterned rack as soon as it comes out of the oven?

I think its been turned on to a square patterned cooling rack, like you have mentioned. I don't think you have to turn it on to the rack as soon as it comes out of the oven.
Because I always let the cake cool in the tin for 5-10 minutes and then turn it on to a rack. And still I end up with a cake with lines on the top.
