I cannot get the color I need to turn out. I want a pretty rose color. Specifically the dark rose color on Peggy Porshen's stripped cake in "pretty party cakes". I have "rose" coloring but when I add as much as it seems to be taking to get a dark rose, it turns almost orange. Can someone give ma a clue, maybe I am using the wrong color? Unfortunately I don't have any burgundy.

What other red colors do you have?

OK, I got it. I used the Rose color and added a little brown. Before that it almost seemed "day-glo". How frustrating to spend literally 1 1/2 hrs, just to mix the color. Now I am not even that happy with my cake. Oh well, off to bed. I can only hope for a miracle that my little ones sleep in... Thanks for your reply!
