My first ever decorated cake! Yea, I've thrown sprinkles on and scrawled messages on a cake in a 9 x 13 pan, but never ventured in this sort of territory!

This is a WASC cake with raspberry and lemon filling, with lemon buttercream.

Here's the cake top:

The image was done with FBCT and the words had to be hand piped, horror of horrors! The original wording done in the transfer broke upon placement. All in all, I'm satisfied.

Here's the side:

I wanted to do some cornelli lace or something on the sides but ran out of time...since it's for my boy, who cares if there's no extra frills, heh.

So yea, I'm pretty ok with it since it's my FIRST EVER! Now, hopefully it tastes good icon_smile.gif

Oh my gosh icon_redface.gif , I was so scared to post it here among all you rockin cake artists! I don't have a class around me so I've been venturing on my own..but thank you so much!

I am definitely making more in my future (heck, I've spent enough money on stuff so I'd better), lol! If it weren't for the great tips here, it wouldn't look nearly as "ok" as it does icon_biggrin.gif

Isn't it frustrating? I do have a Wilton class about 1.5 hrs away...but with the cost of gas and my crazy work schedule, it just doesn't seem to be an option right now. I definitely plan on Sugarshack's dvds!
