I'm going to work on a cake where 1/2 will look like snow/ice and the other half will be water with a penguin on the edge of the water. I wanted to use icicles for the border on top of the cake, but I'm not sure if I should make them out of color flow or something else. Please help. Has anyone done icicles on a cake or have an idea how I should proceed. I'm kind if still new at this.

I use royal icing with any (round) tip #3 - #7, and just pull down when I make gingerbread houses. Depends on how large I want the base of the icicles.
