I had a woman call me wanting ideas for a birthday cake. Her hubby is turning 50 and her son is turning 25 on the same day. She wants some kind of funny cake idea to go together for them both. I asked about hobbies and she said that she has already done all the hobby idea cakes and wants something special...lol
Any ideas?
thanks
You could do something funny like both of them pulling a prank, maybe mooning out a car window or flaming dog poop on the door step while they hide behind a bush! Or Maybe the son getting ready to push dad in a wheel chair down the stairs. haha, ok maybe i have a wierd sence of humor but i bet it would make them laugh!
Just a thought, they have the 5 in common. Maybe put a big 2, 5, and 0 on the top and have 2 figures fighting over the 5? Maybe make it crooked like it's been pulled around?
Then again, it might be hard to make it not look like 250.
how big is the cake going to be? do you do modeling?
since the son is 1/2 as old as the father maybe something with the dad trying to keep up with the son - 6am - father & son fishing...Noon playing football together...3pm doing something else they both love....5 pm BBQing....8 pm dad in a recliner/on sofa snoozing/one eye open & son rarin to go out and party ... oh to be 25 again!
How about a 2 tier "mountain" with the dad at the top (over the hill) and the son half way up. You could lots of funny little digs about life milestones on trail signs. There could be a rocking chair and cane waiting at the top for dad, and the son could be sitting on a ledge drinking a beer, or whatever....just a thought.
How about a two tiered cake? The bottom tier could be the a "whole cake" with a 50 on it. Then the top tier could be half a cake with a 25 on it. Hence, half the the age theme.
How do they feel about fondant??? You could play with the "sliced" look with the top tier in a whimsy sort of way???
Anyway, good luck ![]()
