My pans are all 2 inches high, so I cut 4-inch tall strips and double them over. I wrap around my pan and overlap just a little so that I can use a large paper clip to attach to each other. I cut off the excess.
I soak mine in cold water and then put them in the freezer while I am mixing up my cake. That makes it easier to wrap and clip together, without getting water everwhere.
