I had this email that was sent to me about a month ago and thought that I would share this with everyone. I am not sure who made these, but I hope they don't mind me sharing the amazing talent that they haveicon_wink.gif If they do, Sorry, but these are remarkable!icon_wink.gif

"Marzipan Babies"

Thought you'd be as fascinated with these as I was. These are made with marzipan.... really unbelievable! While some of the faces may look
"crafted" rather than "real", every detail is amazing, and the rest looks VERY real. Be blessed and enjoy the talent given one person by God.

Yep, that's the one!! Isn't that amazing!!! I know that Autumn Carpenter of CK Products fame teaches how to make marzipan babies. I don't know if they're that nice though! Beautiful work!!

I've seen this before........but I think those actual babies were not made of marzipan ....it was on snopes or something .....they were made out of clay...but they are remarkable nontheless........it's a lady in Canada I believe that was taught how to make realistic miniature babies by her grandmother!! They are TRULLY amazing....and the fact that they are clay and not marzipan makes them no less amazing to me!!!

These are actually made of clay, not marzipan. Still amazing, tho! The artist: http://www3.telus.net/camilleallen/camilleallen/index.htm

Amazing! I added her website as a favorite. She learned to do this only 5 years ago! Wow!

I so admire Camille Allen. I emailed her several years ago to see if she had thought of selling her molds. Me, naively thinking she could make more money selling the molds than she would the babies. And me, selfishly thinking and I could buy one of the molds so I could make my own babies out of gumpaste. She said she wasn't interested in selling the molds because she feared someone would make an inferior clay reproduction and sell them using her name. Now she is selling the babies themselves on eBAY and they are going for over a thousand dollars apiece. icon_surprised.gif

I have purchased another baby mold on eBAY from a seller who includes a DVD instructions with the mold. I have not tried the mold as yet, but the face looks very sweet. If you buy from her be sure and let her know you will be using the molds for sugarpaste and need the non toxic mold she carries. Scroll all the way to the bottom of this listing and you will see each of the face molds she carries and some of what is on the DVD.

It is a nice little mold and I have watched the DVD but I have to warn you, it is SOOO boring. I'm sure you can learn by watching it, but her voice drones on and on while her pet bird is squawking in the background. icon_lol.gif
