Hello there.
Here in Colorado we have a place called "The Makery" that bakes, fills, and does a crumbcoat for you. I'm going to make one of my friends wedding cakes as a gift to her in August but she is in Los Angeles - near LAX. Does anyone know of such a place there? I just don't think I'll have time to make and decorate plus the difference in elevation - I don't want anything to go wrong.
Thanks,
Colleen
Just read in another thread that Costco will sell filled and frosted (but not decorated cakes). But they are limited in what cakes they offer, i.e. sheetcakes and maybe large rounds.

Could you bake the cakes and take them with you, along with the buttercream and/or fondant?
