I love using pam with flour... but if you wanna make your own...

mix sifted flour and shortning

consistency should be like a thin BC, i can't give you suggests for measurements cause I never made it! but I have watched (they just eyeball it) and I have used it! Works great.

Thats it! At work they keep it in a bucket and use a pastry brush.

Here is the recipe for the Cake Release I make:

1 cup Crisco
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup flour

Mix until creamy. Store in airtight container
at room temperature.

I use exactly what gourmetcakes does. It doesnt spoil and works like a charm. No sifting needed. You can also store it in a squeeze bottle and squeeze it into your pans and then brush it on.

Its easy to remember
1 cup, 1 cup, 1 cup

veg. oil, shortening, flour

Seriously, I have never had a problem with just Pam (store brand, actually). No flour, no nothin'. Just Pam. I use a parchment circle on the bottom of my pans.

true, sifting isn't really needed. Thanks for the recipe, I never saw them add vegetable at work, but it makes sense!
