Hi everyone,
I am making a mother's day cake for my best friend who is like my mommy
and is also her birthday. Does anyone have a recipe for a fresh fruit filling that also contains some kind of icing? Nothing too buttery of sweet, maybe something like a bavarian cream maybe. Do they go together? any ideas please?? I appreciate any help and suggestions.

It has been my experience that mixing fruit filling (I used the sleeved pastry filling) with b/c resulted in a very thin frosting that required more powdered sugar...so it was too sweet for my taste and not that fruity.
Applying a fruit filling over a thin layer of b/c worked much better as a filling. The fruit flavor was more pronounced and the bi-color filling made a very attractive presentation when the cake was sliced and plated.
