Best Paint To Use On Cupcake Stand

I finally got around to making the boxes for the cupcake stand. I cannot find the original thread that stated the best kind of paint to use on them. I figure it is non toxic/lead free, but was it interior or exterior? Just want to make sure I do this correctly. Anyone know?

I suggested using an oil-based paint, non-toxic and lead-free, of course. Interior paint is fine.
