How do I make character cakes? What recipes can I use with and without eggs? How much of batter should I put in the shaped pan? I am trying out the Wilton barbie cake pan but not too sure how much batter I should put in and what cake recipe to use. Please help

The Wilton character cake pans normally call for one cake mix, which is equal to 4 1/2 to 6 cups of batter.

Thanks but I want to use a recipe from scrath. What is best suited for character cakes.
