Maybe its not a secret and others have tried..
But I bought Chocolate Peppermintini drink mix from pier one and I thought it would taste good in cake..
So I made a devils food box mix, replaced the water with the drink mix, kept the oil, eggs and then folded in some peppermint riming sugar (bought with the mix)...
well as you can tell from the title... YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went back and bought all they had left of the mix today.. figured christmas this will be a hit.. and it was on clearance for 2.48 a bottle.
The company that makes it is "stirrings nantucket", they have lots of other flavors too... I want to try more!
Good idea! Isn't it great how sometimes these little inspirations turn out to be spot on? I need to try this. Mint chocolate *anything* stirs my Pavlovian response!
