I need some ideas.... I have to make my future m-i-l a birthday cake for May 3rd and she wants a German Choc Cake with the canned pecan cocomuth frosting, which is her fav, but how do I decorate that with the base of cake being brown/tan coconut? Please help with ideas!!!

Maybe do chocolate piping with chocolate stand-up letters in Happy Birthday?
I have done german choc. with peacan coconut frosting but I used it as the filling and still decorated with buttercream and fondant accents and everyone loved it.
You could always ice as normal, then pour some ganache on top as an extra touch. Or you could drizzle chocolate and carmel across the top. HTH
