I have a wedding cake due the middle of Feb. I am going to icon_wink.giftry mocakes beautiful Hidden Messages cake. I would like to use gumpaste roses/callas also. I have never done this. My question is do I have enough time to learn how to make them, or is this really asking for trouble? I have made gumpaste baby shoes, but they seem really simple. I don't know where to begin with flowers-is there a good book? I don't even know if you make a "bouquet" and attach that to the cake, and if so-HOW icon_cry.gif Should I just ask the florist for fresh flowers???
Any advice would be very much appreciated!
ALSO is it just my computer icon_mad.gif , (an old one) or is CC still slow???
TIA-very much,
Kathy

You will never now until you try you might be suprised. They do dry fast I made some callas last night and they are pretty dry already so if I needed to finish them I can. Still slow on CC seens worse to me. I don't need them till Feb but I need about 50 so I am starting now. I just posted a thread trick of the day for callas. You shouldn't use real callas on a cake the yellow dust is toxic.

I don't think it's ever too late to learn gumpaste flowers. But, with the stress of doing a wedding cake and if you don't feel really confident that the flowers would turn out as you envision them I would suggest ordering pre-made from CalJava.
