I know cc was closed down for a few days and I even know this post might upset everyone but I just have to say it .... this site seems to be slower then ever!!! I clicked on new post to comment on this, waited several minutes, decided to run a load of laundry, came back and was still waiting for this page to come up!! 
is anyone else having this problem? I tried reading other posts but it took so long I gave up and didnt get a chance to read them so if this was posted before Im sorry, but what is going on?
Slow yes, but it does load for me after about 15 seconds, but since I have cable modem and a newer computer, this should load within a second or two... something still isnt' right.

ETA: it took over a minute to post and I had to reload, so yes, terrible.
Well, of course, they are working on it, but it does deflate you to see a banner that says it's back online only to find it's still slow... computers are wonderful, until they don't work!

They actually had a piece of hardware malfunction, so we could be running on one less server for all we know and that would cause the slowness. I'm just happy that it's back up at all.
But I did stay off of it yesterday because it was slow, didn't want to hose anything up more than it already was.
On my computer the banner says the Cake Central Shop is back online.
yep thats what my banner reads also!
I'll address a number of Points:
1. Yes the SHOP is back online.. that just means you can buy stuff, it doesn't mean the SITE is running faster.
2. Yes a few times we have thought the site problem was fixed only to have the server fall apart a couple hours later.
3. Yes the site will continue to have speed problems for AT LEAST another day. repairing a database the size of the one supporting Cake Central is a time consuming process, if only there was a magic button.
4. YES - it gets really old reading new threads started everyday about the problem that we have already acknowledged exists.
5. NO - we are not getting any sleep. While you are sleeping, we are working on servers.
So please remember that while it is frustrating to be a member and find the site slow, at least you have the option to do something else, whereas, while the problem exists, Jackie and I are basically having to work around the clock trying to repair the problem.
