I iced my cakes last night, when I went back to finish this morning the icing has "bowed" out the side, and on one of them the icing has completely fallen off the side of the cake! What do I do?? never had this happen before.....
Several possibilities. Was the icing too thick? Or too thin? Did you crumb coat the cake first?

Was it in or out of the fridge,if it was out maybe it got to warm.If it was fridgerated then I would go with to thick or to thin?
