SO- I made the NFSC and iced it with Antonia's. I loved the cookie by itself but when the icing got on top it seemed too sweet. Does it really taste like that with the icing on top? I was thinking of trying another cookie recipe without too much sugar then maybe it wouldn't make the iced cookie taste too sweet. Also- after my cookies were iced- they got a little soft. Is that what is supposed to happen? I let them sit out after they were iced and then packaged them but as I was packing them in the box- a few broke b/c they got soft.
I have just added pictures of my cookies in the cookie gallery. Thanks to the ideas from this website.
I use my own cookie recipe so I can't help you there. I get raves for it and I use Antonia's icing. The cookies will get a little soft as they absorb some of the moisture from the icing but I've never had cookies crumble or break on me. I'd say that if you feel that the combo is too sweet to play around with different cookie recipes until you find a combo you like! Good luck!
Great job on the cookies!! Welcome to CC!!
Your cookies look great! Very professional.
How thick are your cookies? I make mine pretty thick, about 3/8".
I also try not to have too thick of icing. That way you are tasting more cookie than icing. Just my opinion.
Have you ever tried cookies from "cookiesbydesign?" Their icing is really thick and sweet, it overpowers the cookie, I think.
