How Far In Advance Can I Decorate?

I am making cookies for a baby shower on Sat. Today is Tues & I'm wondering when I can decorate & them be ok? I'll be using RBC & RI. Thanks

Decorate away! Sugar cookies will stay fresh for many, many days. (Some say weeks, but I like to stick to days!) I like to have extra days just to let the icing fully set, especially if you're bagging or stacking the cookies.

I was thinking a few days would be ok. After I posted I remember one of my friends telling me she didn't let her dd eat her cookie favors until the week after my dd's party. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks. Of to decorate I go!
