can anyone tell me if it is ok to cover a pillow cake in crusting butter cream icing? Would you think that i would get the same results as fondant? Also, if I don't have luster dust, would it still look nice. I was thinking about doing one for a customer this week. She wants a cake to feed 10 with a girl wearing a tiara on it. JI thought that a pillow with a tiara on it might be a nice option too.
thanks , jen

Yes, yes, yes! Go ahead and do it in a crusting BC--then smooth it nice with Viva. You won't get the exact look of fondant, but it will be just fine. thumbs_up.gif If want to at least get a bit of sparkle on it, go ahead and sprinkle on some of the white Wilton shimmer dust--that should give it a bit of a sparkle to it. thumbs_up.gif
