The instructions say you can prepare this 2 different ways...
You can either leave the core in or remove it...

Have you made this bear and which method did you use???

Also, it says to use a pound cake batter mixed with a regular cake batter, did you use this recipe or an alternate one?

I plan to bake this today and need your advice.

I have baked hundreds of bears and never use the core, I use a block cake recipe , like a heavy buttercake ,
works well and doesn't take a lond time to cook

If it's the old teddy bear pan (Wilton) that has two parts to it, I've made a few of them and USED the core, but obviously took it out after baking it and used just a DH cake mix. Never modified it and never had a problem.

I use the core when I make it. I hvae done it with a doctored box mix and the WASC batter. Worked fine both times.
