I love Toba Garretts new book beacuse it is very detailed in tips, techniques and designing. It is like a step by step instruction book with recipes and helpful hints. You can find something helpful or new to learn in this book no matter how long you have been decorating. It's called PROFESSIONAL Cake Decorating. It also has very nice pics of her designs and ideas. She also tells you all the basics of lots of decorating elements you wouldn't just know with out being told specifically. Can't tell it's my fav hu? ![]()
For recipes: both the Magnolia Bakery cookbooks - everything I've made from there has turned out perfectly and has tasted divine! Also love The Cake Bible.
Decorating: well, I have so many (46 at the last count plus every Wilton yearbook since 1980!), but my favourites are anything by Lindy Smith, Debbie Brown, Colette Peters, Jane Asher & Maisie Parrish.
and of course Cake Central - a wealth of ideas, experience & tips to be found here!
