ok if you were to make and sell a cake LIKE the wilton tractor cake..i know that you are not supposed to make the character cakes for profit...but one like it...how much would you charge for one? i have been told that it serves about 16 people..but there is a lot of detail in that type of cake...do you take that into consideration? i had told some one that a cake like would be 30.00 but now im wondering if that may be to high seeing as how it will only serve about 16 people.
what do yall think?
i have to give her an accurate price today.
Thanks !!
I'm not sure that the Wilton Tractor cake counts as a character cake . . . Character cakes are copyrighted cakes, such as the disney cake pans, etc. I haven't checked out the licensing on that particular pan, so I am just not sure of that answer. A car-shaped pan is not a character cake, but a CARS (the movie) cake pan would be.
I can't help you on pricing, since I don't sell any cakes.
I think $30.00 is fair. I start my specialty pan cakes at that price and go up from there depending on the detail.
Thanks yall...i was excited to do another one ( i have done 3 so far ) but this one would have been different...but when i called to check with her on some details she told me that they had decided not to do the cake that they were just gonna make cupcakes at home...bummer...its my first lost order so im kinda down and out about it.
but thanks bunches for yalls help..now ill know for next time!!
