Has anyone seen these at Joann's? I thought it would work great for fondant.

those are really cool! did you see them at Joanns? Was it a superstore joanns or just a regular? (the superstore is 20 miles from my house, the regular joanns as about 3 feet of cake stuff, ugh so frustrating!)
Oh yeh.....they would work great...What a great find.
They are used for clay work. I have found that the books on making animals and people from clay have been a big help in working with fondant figures. They give a step by step instruction and some times tools for clay or other crafts are cheaper the "fondant" tools.
