Stacking Cakes

If your making two cakes and you want them stacked, the bottom cake is it suppose to be made out of something harder, for it to support the upper one, so it won't sink down? Is that clear?

It doesn't have to be. As long as when you stack the cakes you use some sort of dowel rods. I prefer the plastic ones to the wooden ones. Anythime you stack a cake there should be some sort of support for the top cake. icon_lol.gif
