OMG!! You did an awesome job!! NO WAY you're just 15 with results like that. I'm 37 and terrified to try covering a cake with fondant. I am waving my cake spatula in the air for you (since I can't find a cigarette lighter-i don't smoke anyways LOL). Can't wait to see the next cake!

Yeah and that guy also charges big bucks for his cakes. 
I bet his wedding cake wasn't a "freebie or cost of ingredients" cake and I'm sure it wasn't done by a 15 year old baker. 
Let it roll off like water on a ducks back and keep on baking. We'll see what he has to say when he sees you on the food network in a few years.

You know how you know that you are cut out for this?? When you can fix a mistake or total mess and still deliver a nice yummy cake! It's not about how you do when everything goes "right"...it's what you can do when everything goes "wrong".
The cake looks fantastic! And BTW, Duff has a degree in philosophy and culinary arts...he has also trained under some of the top chefs in the country...tell your cousin to make sure he knows what he's talking about before he opens his trap!

Risque, you really don't know how to read my posts. And every time I explain what was meant, you never respond.
All the advice you've given me has been excellent, very informative, beneficial and helpful.
What I said in the post was a joke. It was a joke about if you were embarrassed because I'd listed your name on my list as some to thank for helping me make the cake since the cake was ugly.
The bottom line is that you're a very intelligent woman that I admire. You are a professional and that is evident by your work and the advice and information you supplement CC with. I have never thought negative of your advice, nor do I believe I will ever.

That cake is phenomenal. It looks great despite the "brat" and the other problems you had. You should be very proud. It is much better than anything I could do. You are indeed gifted and have the natural talent to make it in the business.

I know when you post to take you as you are. You do not post to be offensive to anyone. You have a good personality and you make me laugh. I've raised two teen-agers and been around many teenage nephews you bring out the Mom in me.
A Mom's advice:
Quit talking about how ugly your cake is, you know it's not. Just take the compliments and say thank you. If someone doesn't comment on the cake they may not like it. The old saying - if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything. And that's ok if they don't like it, we all go through that. You just say ok and move on.
What??? NO!! It's not possible! 
Amen to the "goofy people make the world go round" comment! I come from a long line of goofy people. You might even say I'm the "star" goofy one of the family.
