Candy Clay For "black" Pearls?

Good morning all 
I was wondering if anyone had used the candy clay recipe:

to make pearls. I was thinking of adding some black candy coloring, and making black string pearls for a project I have coming up. Oh, using the 8mm pearl maker... Will it work?
